This program is designed for experienced, ambitious, and committed players prepared for advanced training, EDP league competition, weekend games, and selected tournaments.

Premier players are expected to demonstrate consistent effort, discipline, commitment, coachability, and a strong willingness to compete. Training challenges players to improve technically, tactically, physically, and psychologically while learning to perform within a competitive team environment.

Our objective is to help players become more intelligent, confident, resilient, and complete competitors while preparing them for increasingly demanding soccer environments.

Who Is This Program For?

The Premier Competitive Teams are recommended for:

  • Experienced and competitive players

  • Players prepared for advanced training

  • Athletes committed to consistent attendance and improvement

  • Players ready for EDP league competition

  • Players seeking weekend matches and tournament opportunities

  • Athletes with strong technical and tactical foundations

  • Players who demonstrate discipline, resilience, and coachability

  • Families prepared for a greater competitive commitment

Every new player must complete a tryout and be accepted by the appropriate team and coach.

Premier Team Eligibility

DSA’s Premier Teams are formed primarily as boys’ teams.

Highly competitive female players may be considered following an individual evaluation when the coaching staff determines that an appropriate team placement is available and that the environment will support the player’s continued development.

All placement decisions are based on ability, readiness, commitment, roster availability, and the developmental needs of the player.

What Premier Players Will Develop

Advanced Technical Ability

Players continue refining their first touch, ball control, passing, receiving, dribbling, finishing, and ability to execute techniques with speed and under pressure.

Tactical Intelligence

Training develops positional understanding, team organization, attacking and defending principles, transitions, movement without the ball, and recognition of changing game situations.

Decision-Making Under Pressure

Premier players are challenged to process information quickly, recognize available options, solve problems, and make effective decisions in realistic competitive situations.

Competitive Mentality and Resilience

Players learn to manage pressure, respond positively to adversity, remain composed during difficult moments, and maintain the concentration required throughout training and competition.

Physical Preparation

Training helps players improve their movement, agility, speed, endurance, coordination, and physical habits appropriate for their age group and competitive level.

Leadership and Team Responsibility

Players learn to communicate effectively, support their teammates, accept their roles, take responsibility, and contribute positively to the team’s competitive culture.

Discipline, Commitment, and Respect

Premier players are expected to demonstrate consistent effort and respect for teammates, coaches, opponents, officials, families, and the game itself.

EDP Florida Competitive League

All DSA Premier Teams compete in the EDP Florida Competitive League.

EDP competition provides Premier players with regular opportunities to apply their training against competitive opponents. Games are normally played on weekends, with schedules determined by the league and each team’s assigned category.

League competition helps players develop:

  • Greater tactical awareness

  • Faster decision-making

  • Competitive confidence

  • Positional responsibility

  • Team organization

  • Resilience under pressure

  • Experience against challenging opponents

Competition is an important part of development, but results are not the only objective. Our coaches use games to evaluate progress, identify areas for improvement, and design purposeful training sessions.

Tournament Opportunities

Premier Teams may participate in selected tournaments throughout the season. Potential events may include:

  • Weston Cup

  • Enigma Cup

  • Dreams Cup

  • Palm Beach Cup

  • Sarasota Cup

  • Other appropriate local or regional tournaments

Participation varies by team, and participation in any particular tournament is not guaranteed.

Before confirming the final tournament calendar, meetings are held to discuss the most appropriate competitive opportunities for each team. These conversations may involve parents, team managers, coaches, and academy directors.

Tournament selection may consider:

  • The team’s age and competitive level

  • Player availability

  • Developmental objectives

  • Tournament format and level of opposition

  • Scheduling and travel requirements

  • Family commitment

  • Applicable participation costs

The final tournament calendar is determined separately for each Premier Team.
