An Introduction to Competitive Soccer
The Academy Competitive Teams represent the next step in DSA’s player-development pathway.
This program is designed for players who have developed fundamental soccer skills and are ready to begin participating in organized competition. Players continue strengthening their technical ability while learning how to apply their skills in real-game situations.
Training focuses on technical development, tactical understanding, decision-making, positional awareness, confidence, discipline, commitment, and teamwork.
Our objective is to provide an appropriate balance between development and competition. Players are challenged to improve while receiving the support, instruction, and opportunities they need to become more confident and prepared competitors.

Acceptance is based on a player tryout and evaluation with the appropriate team and coach.
What Players Will Develop
Technical Ability
Players continue improving their first touch, ball control, dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting, finishing, and ability to use both feet.
Tactical Understanding
Training introduces players to positioning, spacing, team shape, attacking and defending principles, transitions, and their responsibilities within the team.
Decision-Making
Players learn to recognize game situations, make quicker decisions, solve problems under pressure, and select the appropriate action with and without the ball.
Confidence and Resilience
Competition presents challenges. Our coaches help players respond positively to mistakes, remain confident, overcome difficult moments, and continue working toward improvement.
Teamwork and Communication
Players learn how to communicate, support their teammates, take responsibility, and understand the importance of working together toward a shared objective.

This group is designed for developing players who are ready for greater technical, tactical, and competitive demands. Training helps prepare players for more advanced competition and possible progression into DSA’s Premier Competitive Teams.

Local League Competition
Our Academy Teams participate in an introductory local competitive league selected by DSA for each team and season.
League placement may vary depending on the team’s age group, roster size, competition format, scheduling, location, and league availability. DSA reserves the right to select or change a team’s league assignment when necessary to provide players with an appropriate and positive introduction to organized competitive soccer.
League competition may include fall and spring seasons, depending on the team’s assignment and the competition calendar. Games are generally played on weekends.
Through regular competition, players learn to apply their training in real-game situations while developing confidence, responsibility, game understanding, and teamwork.
Academy Teams focus primarily on structured weekly training and introductory local league competition. This format allows developing players to gain meaningful game experience without placing excessive competitive demands on them at this stage of their development.

Monthly Tuition
$179.99 per month
Monthly tuition covers all scheduled training sessions included with the player’s assigned Academy Team. Monthly tuition does not include annual registration, league participation, competition uniforms, optional programs, travel expenses, or other separately identified team costs.
Annual Season Registration
$100 for the 2026–2027 season
The $100 registration fee is paid once for the 2026–2027 season and includes one complete DSA training uniform set. Registration fees, promotions, and included items may change in future seasons.
Local League Participation Fees
Local league participation fees are separate from monthly tuition, annual DSA registration, and competition-uniform costs.
The final cost per player is determined separately for each season or competition period. Costs may vary depending on the league selected, team roster size, registration fees, game-day coaching expenses, administrative costs, and other team-specific competition expenses not covered by monthly tuition.
Families will receive the confirmed league assignment, participation cost, and payment deadline before competition begins.

Premier Competitive Teams
Qualified players progress toward more advanced training, higher-level league competition, and selected tournaments.
Progression is based on readiness—not simply age. Our coaches consider each player’s technical ability, tactical understanding, decision-making, confidence, attitude, commitment, and overall development.
Players who demonstrate the appropriate readiness may be invited to try out for a Premier Competitive Team.
